Tottenham Hotspur bounced back well yesterday after two consecutive defeats.
Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld
During an interview with reporters in the aftermath of his side’s impressive 3-0 FA Cup win over Fulham at Craven Cottage yesterday, Spurs centre-back Toby Alderweireld explained how the players got together to discuss how and where they need to improve, following their disappointing 1-0 Europa League defeat to Gent on Thursday, as quoted by ITV Sport.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men are still very much alive in all three competitions that they remain involved in, but they face an uphill struggle in the Europa League, as they look to make up for their one goal deficit when they welcome the Belgian side to White Hart Lane for the second leg of their tie on Thursday night.
That defeat to Gent followed their woeful performance at Anfield four days prior, and their subsequent 2-0 defeat which left them 10 points adrift of league leaders Chelsea in the Premier League title race.
And Alderweireld shared how the Tottenham team got together after their defeat in Belgium, and admitted that they had not been good enough, as quoted by ITV Sport:

“If you lose two times in a row it’s good to have a good game again. We played well and go to the next round. We talked to each other, after the game in the Europa League, and said ‘Yeah, we have to change’. We know everybody’s trying, but trying to get the good feeling back – one way is to work very hard – and try to change as quickly as possible. We showed the desire is there.”
The Lilywhites will now be looking to kick on, after the confidence boost that was brought around after yesterday’s win at Fulham.
And Gent should expect to face a far different team on Thursday night to the one they beat 1-0 just four days ago.
