Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld believes his side are good enough to win the Champions League, telling reporters at a pre-match press conference that there should be no limits to his side’s ambitions, as quoted by Sky Sports.

The Belgian has become an integral part of Mauricio Pochettino’s side since his move to White Hart Lane last summer, and has gone on to appear in every single Premier League game for the Lilywhites.

The North London outfit began their Champions League campaign in disappointing fashion with a home defeat to Monaco, but they have a chance to bounce back tonight with a trip to Russia to take on CSKA Moscow.

The 27-year-old former Atletico Madrid and Southampton man explained to reporters how his side must believe that there are no limits to their capabilities, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“I’ve learned that every team can win the Champions League if you put your mind to it. If you have a good squad and the hunger is there to win something, you can do it. At Atletico, we had the big teams like Barcelona, Real, Bayern Munich – they were always the favourites. But at Atletico, if you are a really good group and, of course, we had quality too, you can win it. That’s the thing that has stayed with me.”

Tottenham have begun their Premier League campaign in fine form, and currently sit second in the Premier League table after recording four wins and two draws from their opening six league games.

Their fans will be hoping they can transfer that domestic form on to the continent as they look to bring three valuable points back to London.

Spurs’ task will not be an easy one, however, with CSKA Moscow’s stadium notorious for being one of those most intimidating arenas in world football.
