The Tottenham Hotspur pair helped their side reach the last 16 of Euro 2016 this week.

Tottenham Hotspur centre-backs Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld have taken to social media to celebrate Belgium’s passage into the last 16 of this summer’s European Championships.
Marc Wilmots’ side started the tournament with a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Italy but they turned things around to record victories against the Republic of Ireland and Sweden to progress as the runners-up in Group E.

That means they will now face Hungary in the first knockout stage at the weekend and they will know they cannot take the surprise package for granted after they drew 3-3 with Portugal earlier in the day.
Belgium’s win over Sweden came courtesy of a Radja Nainggolan goal and Tottenham duo Vertonghen and Alderweireld will be pleased to have kept their second consecutive clean sheet in the competition.

The pair formed a superb partnership for Tottenham last season and they are continuing the good work for their country.
After the game Vertonghen thanked the fans for their incredible support while Alderweireld acknowledge the fight it took to overcome a resilient Sweden team.
