Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has revealed to The Guardian that he has spoken to Philippe Coutinho about his future.

According to The Sun, Spanish and European giants Barcelona are interested in signing Coutinho.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Blaugrana could make a bid for the attacking midfielder in the January transfer window.

Barcelona wanted to sign the Brazil international in the summer of 2017, according to ESPN.

Liverpool left-back Moreno has revealed that he has spoken to 25-year-old Coutinho about his future.

The 25-year-old Spain international, though, has refused to reveal what the Brazilian has actually told him regarding his plan for the future.

“I have told him, eh,” Moreno told The Guardian. “I’ve said: ‘Brother, don’t go.’ But in the end, a player has to make the decision himself.

“I can’t tell you what he said to me, of course, because it’s something that’s very personal, but we’ve talked.

“He’s my friend and always will be, we get on very well, and of course [I will support him whatever his decision]. I don’t know what will happen.

“If it was down to me, I’d love him close to me for life, always enjoying seeing him play football, which is a wonder. It’s a privilege.”

It is clear that Moreno wants Coutinho remain at Anfield, but the problem is that the Spaniard has not disclosed what the Brazil international has actually told him.

Could it be that the former Inter Milan star has already made up his mind and will leave in January or next summer?

After all, if the 25-year-old wanted to stay at Liverpool, then surely Moreno would have said that publicly.

Moreno joined Liverpool from Sevilla in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £12 million.
