Newcastle United are on the look out for a new left-back this summer.

According to a report in the Liverpool Echo, Alberto Moreno is set to leave Liverpool this summer.

Moreno has struggled to break into Liverpool’s team this season, despite their dearth of options at left-back.

And with Jurgen Klopp set to bring in a new full-back over the coming weeks, Moreno looks set to slip even further down the pecking order at Anfield.

Liverpool are now said to be prepared to allow Moreno to leave – either on loan or on a permanent transfer.

And Newcastle United should make sure they are at the front of the queue for the Spaniard’s signature.

Moreno’s defensive ability has come into question of late, but there can be no doubting his attacking qualities.

And with Newcastle on the look out for a new left-back, he could fit the bill.

Paul Dummett is a solid option for the Magpies, but Moreno would be a considerable upgrade on the Welshman.

Rafael Benitez is obviously a fan of Moreno, as he once wanted him at Real Madrid (Sky Sports).

And, with Moreno now on the market, it would not come as too much of a shock if Newcastle were to make a move.
