Albania coach Gianni De Biasi hopes that Manchester United starlet Adnan Januzaj chooses to play for his side but his calls are going unanswered.
Manchester United’s rising star Adnan Januzaj will have several options when he decides to commit his international future to one country and Albania are an outside bet.
The 18-year-old has been one of the revelations of the season and a rare bright spot for embattled manager David Moyes.
It looks almost certain that an exciting career at the highest level is beckoning, but which nation Januzaj opts to represent is up for debate.
The gifted winger could represent Kosovo, Belgium, Serbia, Turkey or Albania and there are reports that the English FA are looking for a loophole to allow Januzaj to represent the Three Lions.
“The problem is his father who never replies to us,” De Biasi told Sky Sports.
“At the moment it’s easier to talk to Pope Francis than to get through to Abedin Januzaj.
“We don’t know what Adnan will choose but we have made various attempts to convince him.”
