Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing the recent reports regarding Tottenham’s ownership structure.
According to The Financial Times, Jahm Najafi is preparing a £3.1bn takeover bid for the north London club.
Gold is led to believe that the interest from Najafi is genuine. However, people he speaks to inside the club are currently denying that there has been any sort of movement on that front.

Spurs denying takeover interest
Gold shared what he knows about this situation.
“From what I understand the interest does seem to be genuine. Neither side has commented publicly, but people I speak to inside Spurs deny that any approach has been made. That fits into the report saying that we’re weeks away from an approach. If you ask people inside Spurs they say there’s no intention to sell and they have long-term plans and ambitions,” Gold said.
Doesn’t mean anything
The fact that Spurs are denying that this move is making progress doesn’t necessarily mean anything either way.
The club could just be playing it straight and telling the story as it is, but the reality is that they would deny any talks even if they were happening.
These multi-billion pound deals are very precarious, and it only takes one wrong bit of media coverage or one leak to completely derail any deal, and when you’re doing business at this sort of level, you want to keep your cards close to your chest.
It may be quite some time before anyone at Spurs is willing to talk about any takeover deal that is happening.
