Speaking on his YouTube channel, Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has shared how much money is currently available for Tottenham to spend on transfers this summer.
Unfortunately, it’s bad news for Tottenham fans, the journalist says that there’s currently no money in place for Spurs to spend in the upcoming window.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that there’s not going to be any signings. Indeed, funds will be available, but they will have to be raised by the sale of players.
“I do think they need to continue with the revamp and the rebuild, but unfortunately, Spurs need money.
“Spurs financially are absolutely stuffed as 99 per cent of football clubs out there are right now, you’re only going to get the mega-rich clubs that are really going to survive this pandemic without having a nightmare.
Gold then went on to explain why Spurs’ financial difficulties have occurred, with a loss of matchday revenues and continuing payments on the new stadium, before concluding.
“That’s why this summer there’s going to be no funds for transfers in place. Any funds will have to come from player sales.”

This may be a sign of things to come for a lot of Premier League clubs.
Funds aren’t there at the moment due to the financial strain of the pandemic, so don’t expect any blockbuster deals to go through this summer.
Spurs of course have a number of sellable assets, so they could still get a few signings over the line, but it would seem that is wholly dependant on player sales.
