Alasdair Gold has told his YouTube channel that he noticed Harry Kane limping heavily away following his post-match media duties, after scoring a brace for Tottenham during Saturday’s 3-2 win over Manchester City.
Kane, 29, scored a sensational brace for Spurs on Saturday evening as Tottenham produced a wonderful display to beat Manchester City. England skipper Kane was at his best, creating the first and scoring the next two.
Spurs are back in action on Wednesday night, travelling north to take on Burnley at Turf Moor in what is a rearranged fixture. Kane was delighted after the match, speaking to media with a beaming smile after his display.
But with a quick turnaround, Gold’s claim will come as a worry to Spurs fans – especially considering how he played on Saturday. Gold reported that Kane limped away from media duties, with a knock to his back.
“The only slight [worrying] moment was we watched him doing his post-match interviews down on the pitch like I said Conte has to do – he was limping pretty heavily, was Kane,” Gold told his YouTube channel.
“He took a real whack kind of at the base of his back towards the end and he was kind of hobbling around the pitch a little bit towards the end of the game. It needed quite a bit of treatment as well.”
Gold on Kane: Tottenham need him available to finish in top four
Three straight Premier League defeats put an enormous dent into his side’s top-four chances. But Kane’s masterclass for Tottenham on Saturday has reignited those top-four hopes. Spurs need him fit to stand any chance.
With Manchester United and West Ham playing three more games than Spurs, Wednesday night is one of Tottenham’s games in hand. A tricky trip to Turf Moor awaits and Conte will need Kane fit to secure three points.
A win would see Spurs go above Wolves into seventh and level on points with Arsenal and West Ham, though both London rivals have better goal differences. Spurs need to beat Burnley, and to do that, they need Kane.
