Tottenham Hotspur won’t be renewing an interest in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, according to a journalist.

Harry Kane was ruled out for four months in January and that injury forced Spurs into the transfer market, prompting speculation [The Telegraph] of a shock move for the big man.

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho, who has worked with Ibrahimovic in the past, rejected the idea that the iconic striker could have a spell in North London.

The Lilywhites didn’t wind up signing another centre-forward, meaning that area will still need strengthening when the transfer window opens.

But according to Alasdair Gold of Football London, there will be no interest from Tottenham in the 38-year-old star, now plying his trade with AC Milan.

He wrote: “Ibrahimovic will be 39 in October. He’s a very fit guy but in the pace of the Premier League it’s going to be near impossible for him to make an impact once again.

“That situation hasn’t changed and at this stage in his career – despite his admiration for Mourinho – the Swede is not going to want to continue playing the game just to sit on the bench.

“It doesn’t fit with his persona and he would still command big wages for a man pushing 40.”

This one also doesn’t make sense because chairman Daniel Levy tends to only sign players between the age of 19 to 24 these days, which makes Ibrahimovic a no-go entirely.
