Tottenham Hotspur produced a disastrous second-half performance in losing 1-0 at West Ham United this afternoon.

Michail Antonio’s goal wound up being the difference between both sides at the London Stadium.

Tottenham had a number of decent first-half chances through Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, but made neither count.

After the break, Spurs failed to even register a shot at West Ham’s goal.

On the whole it was an awful display by the North Londoners, who have now lost all four local derbies this season – Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Arsenal and the Irons.

Here’s how former Lilywhites owner and billionaire Alan Sugar reacted on Twitter:

Apathy

Nuno’s side went into the game on the back of a two-match winning streak in the Premier League.

That might not sound impressive but, when you consider Tottenham’s domestic form prior to those two wins, it certainly was.

But those wins over Aston Villa and Newcastle were yet more false dawns.

The defeat might’ve been tolerable – or more acceptable at least – had the Portuguese’s side actually played well.

But as mentioned, it was a terrible effort from the North Londoners and as Sugar pointed out, no fight from them whatsoever.

More worryingly, there was more sign of apathy from Kane.

The 28-year-old is playing like a man clearly still livid that he was denied a move away from Spurs this past summer.

And when your best player isn’t at the races, a goal against Newcastle last week notwithstanding, then you’re in big, big trouble.
