Tottenham Hotspur secured a narrow first-leg victory against Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Rio Ferdinand looks on before the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on January 31, 2018 in London, England.

Alan Sugar has hit out at Rio Ferdinand on Twitter for being ‘negative’ about Tottenham and ‘singing the old song’ that they have to spend money in the transfer market.

Moving into their new stadium will help and winning their opening two games will also serve as a boost to the supporters.

On Tuesday night, they beat Manchester City 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League tie with Heung-Min Son netting the only goal of the game.

The South Korea international has already written his name in the history books because he officially scored the first goal in Tottenham’s new stadium when they beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League last Wednesday.

Now, he will be looking to score in his third consecutive home game when Pochettino’s side host already-relegated Huddersfield Town at the weekend as they bid to maintain their status in the Champions League places.
