Son Heung-min was shown a yellow card during Spurs’ win over Leicester.
Ryan Mason and Lord Alan Sugar have both reacted on Twitter after Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min was shown a yellow card for simulation during Spurs’ 3-1 win over Leicester City.
Son, 26, scored his 15th goal of the season in just his 31st appearances for Tottenham, as he put the result to bed in injury time – in a match that could have ended very different.
Spurs took the lead through Davinson Sanchez, but had Hugo Lloris to thank for a number of saves – including a penalty save from Jamie Vardy. Christian Eriksen doubled the lead, before Vardy made up for his miss. But Spurs won 3-1.
During the match, referee Michael Oliver showed Son a yellow card for supposedly diving to win a penalty under the challenge from Harry Maguire. Replays showed that there was contact, and both Son and Sugar responded on Twitter.
The win for Spurs sees them sit in third place, five points behind both Liverpool and Manchester City – though leaders City have played an extra game than both Jurgen Klopp’s side and Spurs.
Spurs have a difficult run of games coming up, facing Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday before taking on Burnley, Chelsea, Arsenal and then a return leg in Germany against Dortmund.
