Allan has failed to play for Celtic since returning from his loan to Hibernian.

Alan Stubbs has urged Celtic playmaker Scott Allan to leave Parkhead in the January transfer window on BT Sport, as he is yet to make a single appearance for the Hoops this season.
Former Hibernian manager Stubbs signed 26-year-old midfielder Allan in the summer of 2014 from West Bromwich Albion on a free transfer, before he was sold to Celtic just a year later.
Allan has since returned to Hibs on loan, joining Neil Lennon’s side in January on loan until the end of the the 2017-18 season, clocking up 22 assists and six goals in 55 games. But it is a very different story at Celtic.
Just 17 Hoops appearances – none of which have come this season – since joining Celtic in 2015 has seen Allan ostracised by Brendan Rodgers. Stubbs urged Allan to leave, stating he is too good to be rotting on the sidelines.
“He needs to be playing, wherever that is, whether it’s at Celtic or out somewhere else,” Stubbs said. “It’s not doing him any favours being there, especially with the way that the loan window is now. It is every six months and you’ve got to be out.
“It’s not doing Brendan any favours. He’s too good. I’m surprised he hasn’t gone out.”

Allan’s future at Celtic is already in doubt, as he is one of a number of Hoops players who are in the final year of their contract. Ryan Christie, Scott Brown, Cristian Gamboa, Mikael Lustig, Dedryck Boyata and Dorus de Vries face the same fate.
With the January transfer window now less than two months away, Allan could be on the move sooner rather than later.
