Would Nottingham Forest-linked Hibernian star John McGinn be a good signing for Celtic as Scott Brown replacement?

Brown is one of the best midfielders in Scotland and has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian.
The Scotland international is going strong despite being 32 years of age and remains a key figure at Celtic Park.
However, time will come soon for Celtic to start thinking about finding a long-term replacement for Brown.

Former Celtic central defender Stubbs believes that McGinn would be a good signing for the Glasgow giants if they look to recruit a replacement for Brown.
The 46-year-old former Rotherham United boss worked with the 23-year-old Scotland international midfielder when he was the manager of Hibernian from 2014 until 2016.
McGinn is one of the best young midfielders in Scotland and has been linked with moves away from Hibs.

According to The Scottish Sun, Nottingham Forest wanted to sign the 23-year-old midfielder from Hibernian in the summer transfer window.
It has also been reported that Forest manager Mark Warburton may try to sign the McGinn again in the January transfer window.
“I think he is good enough,” Stubbs told The Scottish Sun about McGinn. “Scott Brown has re-ignited his career at Celtic but in the next couple of years, if Celtic decided to go for John, then I think he would be a ready-made replacement.”
