Should Everton make a move for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele in the January transfer window?

Hibernian Manager Alan Stubbs lifts the cup during the Scottish Cup Final between Rangers and Hibernian at Hampden Park on May 21, 2016 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Alan Stubbs has suggested that Celtic striker Moussa Dembele would be a good signing for Everton, as quoted by The Daily Mail.

Dembele is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is one of the best young players in Europe.

As stated on Celtic’s official website, the 21-year-old has scored 36 goals in 61 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops so far in his career.

Former Celtic and Everton central defender Stubbs, who has managed Hibernian and Rotherham United in his career, has suggested that Dembele would be a good signing for the Toffees, who are in desperate need of a striker who can successfully replace the departed Romelu Lukaku in the team.

“If he has an impact in the second half of the season, that price is going to keep on going up,” The Daily Mail quotes Stubbs as saying about Dembele.

“I think Everton are crying out for that type of striker. They need someone who is big, strong, powerful, and obviously scores loads of goals.

“He’d be a good fit for Everton right now, but obviously Celtic just want to see him out there scoring goals, and the more goals he scores, the more pound notes.”

Moussa Dembele of Celtic scores his 3rd goal during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on September 10, 2016 in Glasgow.

Dembele is a superb footballer and has scored goals for Celtic in the Champions League as well.

The France Under-21 international striker can only get better, and he would be a very good signing for Everton in the long run and would also solve the goalscoring problem that the Merseyside outfit have at the moment.

However, it is hard to see the Glasgow giants entertain any bids for the youngster, even if they are offered big money.

Perhaps Everton should make an offer for Dembele next summer…
