Alan Stubbs has praised Everton summer signing Michael Keane.
Everton paid big money to sign Michael Keane from Burnley this summer, but he has struggled to settle in at his new club.
The 24-year-old has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season, but hasn’t looked convincing at all.
Having said that the entire team have struggled so far, and it has been hard for newcomers at the club to make an impact straightaway.
Former Everton player, Alan Stubbs has showered heaps of praise on Keane, saying he is the future of the club.
Everton have won just once in their last nine games in all competitions, and have been very poor defensively.
Keane has been called back into the England fold, and it could have a positive effect on him when he returns to club football.
The Everton legend, who played 192 games across two spells with the Merseyside club, knows all about the pressure of playing for the Toffees.
He has hailed him as a “great signing”, and believes that playing alongside the likes of Jagielka and Williams will help him grow as a defender.
“He (Keane) is the future of Everton in that back line,” said Stubbs, as quoted by The Express. “I think he was a great signing.”
