Can Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic win the Scottish Premiership title without losing a single match this season?

Former Everton and Sunderland defender Alan Stubbs has told The Daily Record that Celtic will not go the entire 2017-18 Scottish Premiership campaign unbeaten.

Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title with ease last season and did not lose a single game in the league.

The Bhoys are firm favourites to clinch the league title this campaign as well, and have kicked off the new season in style.

On Saturday afternoon, Brendan Rodgers’s side got the better of Heart of Midlothian 4-1 at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.

Former Celtic centre-back Stubbs, who is 45 years of age, has predicted that the Glasgow giants will not go the entire 2017-18 Scottish Premiership campaign unbeaten.

“It will be very difficult,” Stubbs wrote in The Daily Record. “What they did last year was quite remarkable but in terms of going the whole of this season unbeaten, I’d have to say no.”

What Celtic achieved last season was historic and unprecedented; after all, the Hoops won the Scottish Premiership, the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Cup in 2016-17 without losing a single game.

It will be hard for the Glasgow giants to repeat those heroics this season, but perhaps Rodgers’s side could it this time around as well.
