Ibrox outfit Rangers is warned by former Celtic defender Alan Stubbs.
Former Celtic and Everton defender Alan Stubbs has told The Daily Record that Rangers need to have a structure in place.
The former Hibernian and Rotherham United manager has suggested that Rangers need to make the right appointments.
The Gers are on the hunt for a new manager following the departure of Mark Warburton last month due to a run of poor results in the Scottish Premiership.
According to The Daily Star, the Glasgow giants want to appoint Pedro Caixinha as their new manager.
Rangers are also looking to appoint a Director of Football, according to The Scottish Sun.
Stubbs believes that the Ibrox outfit need to get these two key appointments right, or else they may not be able to compete with Old Firm rivals Celtic in the long run.
“Rangers priority is to get a head coach and Caixinha would be a good appointment if that’s who it is going to be,” Stubbs told The Daily Record.
“Rangers also need to bring in a director of football and set out a clear pathway and put a structure in place of where they want to take the club. It is not about where Rangers are compared to Celtic just now.
“Rangers main priority and objective right now is to install a manager and a director of football first and foremost.
“If they do not get those appointments right then the rest won’t follow and there will be a familiar pattern of things breaking down at the club time and time again.”
Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 46 points from 27 matches.
The Gers are six points behind second-placed Aberdeen and as many as 33 points behind leaders Celtic.
The Glasgow giants will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Celtic away from home at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership.
