Ex-Celtic man Stubbs has brought Hodson to St. Mirren this summer.

Lee Hodson completed his loan from Rangers to Scottish Premiership side St. Mirren after plummeting down the pecking order at Ibrox, and Alan Stubbs has told BBC Sport that the defender will add real experience to his side.
The 26-year-old has fallen behind new signings Borna Barisic and Jon Flanagan in the pecking order, with James Tavernier and Andy Halliday also fighting for a spot on each side of the defence.
Northern Ireland international Hodson’s long-term future at Rangers is also in doubt, with less than 12 months remaining on his current contract at Ibrox. A loan at St. Mirren could see him look to prove he earns a new deal.
New St. Mirren manager Stubbs, who used to play for Rangers’ Old Firm rivals Celtic, told BBC Sport that Hodson’s experience will see him become a crucial addition with the Scottish Championship winners.
“He brings experience, a winning mentality and his own individual qualities,” Stubbs said.
“It is going to provide real competition for places which is what we want. As well as being a right-back he can play at left-back as well which is good.
“There’s no issues with him in terms of fitness so all being well he will go straight into the squad for Saturday.”

Hodson has failed to feature once for Rangers this season, making the bench only twice under Gerrard in the Scottish Premiership win over St. Mirren as well as the 0-0 draw against Maribor.
The former MK Dons defender is available for St. Mirren’s clash against fellow promoted side Livingston on Saturday, in a match that could be crucial come the end of the season in the bottom half.
