Alan Shearer’s brutally honest verdict on Newcastle United win

Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United winning against Brighton and Hove Albion at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle have got the better of Brighton 2-1 at St. James’ Park in the Premier. League on Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Fraser and Fabian Schar scored the goals for the Toon Army in the first half.

In fact, both the goals came within 14 minutes.

Brighton stepped up their game in the second half and pulled one back in the 55th minute.

The Seagulls pressed on for their second goal, but Newcastle held on.

Newcastle legend Shearer was following the match, and he was disappointed with the performance of the team in the second half.

However, the MOTD pundit was pleased to see the Magpies pick up all three points from the encounter.

Shearer has also picked Schar as the Man of the Match.

The 30-year-old central defender had a pass accuracy of 60.9%, won four headers, took 37 touches, and made two tackles, three interceptions and six clearances.

The win for Newcastle extends their great run of form, and now the St. James’ Park fateful will feel that the team will retain their Premier League status.
