Is Mo Salah’s form a worry for Liverpool at the moment?

Alan Shearer has written in The Sun that Mo Salah’s form is a ‘huge concern’ for Liverpool.

Liverpool drew a blank in Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Everton and a profligate display from the Reds’ go-to-guy is a big factor in what was an overall disappointing result.

Salah could and should have opened the scoring in the first half, but he was denied by Jordan Pickford.

The Egypt international, last season’s PFA Player of the Year, has 17 Premier League goals so far – seven less in comparison to this time last term.

In addition to that, the 26-year-old has only struck once in his last seven games for Jurgen Klopp’s side across all competitions.

Liverpool’s stalemate at Goodison Park cost them top spot in the Premier League table with nine games to play, and the iconic Shearer can’t help but feel very concerned by Salah’s goal-shy form as of late.

He told The Sun: “Mo Salah’s form has to be a huge concern for Liverpool right now. The two big chances against Everton fell to him — just like Jurgen Klopp would have wanted. But his touch let him down both times and he blew the opportunity to score.

“Salah seems to be lacking confidence and is showing a few signs of nerves. And that is really worrying for the Reds at such a crucial time of the season.

“He is not hitting the heights he did last season, when he already had 24 goals in the top flight at this stage. And this is the year when it actually really matters, with Liverpool going for the title.”
