The BBC pundit has given his verdict on an uninspiring day for the north London rivals.

Alan Shearer has reacted on Twitter to the Deadline Day business of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur – or lack thereof.

Indeed, Arsenal didn’t sign a new striker on the final day of the transfer window – and nor did Tottenham despite their best efforts.

And Shearer feels there will now be huge pressure on Harry Kane at White Hart Lane, while also confirming what everyone already knows in that Arsenal are already short up front.

The Gunners, of course, have created history… by being the only side in Europe this summer not to sign an outfield player.

And, if the Tottenham hero becomes injured, who could possibly replace him up front for Spurs that would score as prolifically as Kane at his best?

For Arsenal, meanwhile, it’s the same old story. Every year, Arsene Wenger’s reasoning for not adding anyone (outfield) to his squad becomes more and more difficult to understand…
