The Tottenham Hotspur players experienced a difficult end to the season for both club and country.

Alan Shearer suggested that the Tottenham players will have a long hard summer ahead of them, when writing his regular column for the Sun.
Spurs lost 2-0 in the Champions League final to Liverpool last weekend, and many of their players suffered further disappointment in the Nation League semi-final, losing 3-1 to the Netherlands.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will now have to galvanise his players ahead of next season’s Premier League, where they will be expected to mount a more sustained challenge for the title.
The Argentine will undoubtedly be looking to bolster his ranks this summer, in a bid to freshen up his squad, but it will also be important for his players to get some much-needed rest.
Shearer suggested that this summer’s break will be far from an easy one for the Spurs stars, however, when writing his regular column for the Sun:

“Unfortunately, especially for the Spurs players in the camp, they have a long, hard summer to think about a couple of very poor performances before they get back to it next year.”
The Tottenham players must remember how much they achieved last season, however.
Reaching the Champions League final really was quite some achievement, and if Pochettino does strengthen his options this summer, there is no reason why they cannot challenge for major honours once again next season.
