Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has developed one of the most accurate penalty taking techniques ever.

Alan Shearer has told The Sun that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane’s ability from the penalty spot is very impressive.

Kane scored twice from 12 yards for England at the weekend against Bulgaria, after also scoring a penalty in Tottenham’s last match before the international break against Arsenal.

Kane has developed a technique where he is seemingly always able to hit the corner of the goal with power, making him one of the most reliable penalty takers in world football.

And Shearer has praised the Spurs striker’s ability from the spot.

“He is a single-minded and cold-blooded No 9 who has an insatiable desire and hunger to score — and that makes him such a ruthless penalty-taker,” he said.

“I’ve read about how obsessed he is with practising them and that is what you have to do as your team’s penalty- taker — I was exactly the same.

“Harry seems to have a similar technique to myself. He picks his spot then smashes it into the corner with pace and precision.

“He is a very impressive penalty-taker and it is great to see from an England point of view.”

Kane’s hat-trick for England should boost his confidence considerably before he heads back to Tottenham.

Kane has traditionally been a fairly slow starter to the season, but he already has three goals to his name in Tottenham colours this season and an international hat-trick.

The 26-year-old will be carrying a lot of responsibility when he does return to Spurs matters though, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side have begun the season slowly.

Spurs have struggled to find any consistency so far this term, with their performances coming in for criticism.

Tottenham have won just once this term, and unless they improve dramatically after the international break then making the top four could be a real struggle.
