The Arsenal striker was in superb form against Spurs yesterday.

Alan Shearer raved about the quality of Arsenal hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, when speaking exclusively to the Sun, and shared what he told Ian Wright about the Gabon international.

The Gunners were quite simply brilliant against Tottenham yesterday, and Aubameyang’s display typified what Unai Emery’s side were all about in the North London Derby.

The 29-year-old has been on fire this season, scoring 12 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions, and he is currently the Premier League’s top scorer.

If Arsenal are to enjoy a successful season, the former Borussia Dortmund ace will have to continue his fine form between now and May.

Shearer – the Premier League’s all-time top scorer, shared with the Sun what he told Ian Wright about the prolific Gunners ace:

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal celebrates at full time after a 4-2 win over Tottenham in the Premier League match between Arsenal FC and Tottenham Hotspur at Emirates Stadium on...

“Arsenal have gone 19 games unbeaten now and what Emery is doing is very impressive. Of course, it helps when you can call upon a goalscorer like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. I was sat with Ian Wright all day yesterday and I joked to him that he’s the best striker Arsenal have ever had! Aubemayang is the Premier League’s top scorer now and his last ten shots have all resulted in goals. The way he curled the ball into the corner first time to score his second goal against Spurs just stank of confidence and belief.”

Next up for Arsenal is a hugely important clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, and Auba will have to be at his brilliant best once again, if Emery’s side are to head back to north London with all three points to show for their efforts.

For today, though, Gunners fans should just enjoy yesterday’s performance, and revel in the fact that they have someone with Aubameyang’s quality at their club.
