Tottenham Hotspur will play all of their home games at Wembley Stadium next season.

Alan Shearer explained how he believes Spurs will not be adversely affected by playing their home games at Wembley next season, when writing his regular column for the Sun (page 51 of Monday’s print edition), whilst claiming that they will undoubtedly use it as an excuse, however, should things not go to plan.
Tottenham have enjoyed a relatively successful campaign this term, despite once again failing to win a trophy, but many have predicated that they could struggle next season, without the comfort of playing their home games at the fortress that is White Hart Lane.
But Shearer explained how the Lilywhites have such quality in their squad that they should not be affected by their stadium switch, when writing his regular column for the Sun:
“Spurs temporarily moving home should not have an effect, but like with West Ham, it may be used as an excused by some for any adverse results. It shouldn’t, because they have a good exciting team, but one that needs a trophy next season.”

Whilst it will obviously not be easy for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to adapt to playing on the larger pitch at the national team’s home, Spurs have both the quality and fitness present amongst their current crop of players to make a seamless transition.
Their performances at Wembley this term contradict that viewpoint, but the more they play there, the more they will become accustomed to their surroundings, and Tottenham will be expected to challenge for the Premier League title once again, irrelevant of where they play their home games.
