Alan Shearer has led the tributes to Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin after his ‘brilliant’ performance.
Steve Bruce’s side picked up an exceptional 4-1 win away to Bournemouth on Wednesday night and the French winger played a big role in that.
Saint-Maximin bagged himself no fewer than three assists in the victory – the first of which was particularly special – as the 23-year-old’s fine form continued.
The former Nice star also scored in a 3-0 win over Sheffield United last month and here’s what Shearer said about him on Twitter after the game last night.
Shearer hasn’t always been as effusive in his praise of Saint-Maximin.
Back in February, the iconic former Newcastle striker criticised the winger and described him as ‘lazy’.
But when he’s on song, Saint-Maximin is truly a wonderful player and if Bruce can get more consistency from him next season, he’ll be a very, very tough player for the opposition to keep quiet.
