Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to send a message to Magpies striker Dwight Gayle after his hat-trick against Norwich City.
The Magpies played out a quite stunning game against their fellow promotion-chasers, and it all started with Gayle giving Newcastle a first-half lead.

However, Norwich hit back as Graham Dorrans scored from the penalty spot, before Cameron Jerome curled home a second-half beauty, and Jacob Murphy’s long-range strike was deflected past Karl Darlow for the third.
Newcastle looked down and out at 3-1 down, but produced a stunning recovery in the last 20 minutes, with Gayle finishing after being played in behind the Norwich defence, before Yoan Gouffran headed home from close range in the 95th minute, with Gayle driving home the winner just a minute later.

Fans, players and staff were jubilant at the final whistle after a breathtaking comeback, with Gayle unsurprisingly the hero of the hour.
The 25-year-old striker, snapped up from Crystal Palace over the summer, has now hit seven goals in nine games for Newcastle as he becomes a fan favourite.

After the final whistle, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer took to Twitter, and sent a message of support to Gayle as he looks to become the Magpies’ latest goal hero.
Shearer congratulated Gayle for a ‘brilliant hat-trick’, before celebrating an ‘amazing comeback and result’ for his boyhood club.
