Alan Shearer has included Son Heung-min in his Premier League Team of the Week and claims the Tottenham player has “class” in “abundance” after coming back from a poor start to the season to score a hat-trick against Leicester.
Son, 30, was left on the bench by Antonio Conte as Spurs fielded a side that saw Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski either side of Harry Kane. Son starred, netting a wonderful hat-trick after coming off the bench during a 6-2 victory.
Not only did Son open his account, or score a hat-trick – but his three goals were all inside a 14-minute spell. The first two especially are exquisite goals, curling efforts past Danny Ward from 20 yards out. It comes after a poor start.
He had failed to score in his opening eight games. But, he now boasts stats of four goal involvements in nine games. Much better reading. Shearer said: “Class is permanent, and Son has it in abundance. What a 14-minute hat-trick!”

Tottenham have made an excellent start to the Premier League season. At this stage, they have five wins and two draws from seven league games. They are one of three runaway leaders with Man City and Arsenal at the top of the table.
If Spurs are to have a successful season, improving on last season’s top-four finish, they need their best players firing on all cylinders. Harry Kane is, Eric Dier is, Hugo Lloris is, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is. They need Son to get to that level.
He did against Leicester – and it left fans and players delighted. Even Conte was delighted to see Son get his first goal of the season, jumping on Ivan Perisic. If Son can get to that level again, Spurs can mount a title challenge this season.
