Alan Shearer has said on Match of the Day on BBC One that only Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott are playing well for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at the moment.
The Newcastle United legend made the comments about midfielder Elliott and winger Diaz while discussing Liverpool’s performance and result against Everton in the Merseyside derby this past weekend.
Liverpool played out a goalless draw with Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

Shearer said: “Other than Diaz, maybe Harvey Elliott, they have’t reached their level yet.”
Encouraging displays
In our view, Liverpool duo Luis Diaz and Harvey Elliott have been playing well this season.

Diaz is not at his best, but some of his performances have been encouraging.
The 25-year-old Colombia international is scoring goals and creating chances for his Liverpool teammates.
Diaz has scored three goals in six Premier League appearances for the Reds so far this season.
Elliott is also a winger by trade, but the Englishman has been playing deeper in midfield for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The 19-year-old is driving the team forward from midfield and is working hard to make things happen.
Elliott has scored one goal in five Premier League starts for Liverpool so far this campaign.
