Alan Shearer has raved about Everton central midfielder Allan on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:17pm, May 9, 2021) for his performance against West Ham United.
The former Newcastle United striker, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, believes that Allan was magnificent during Everton’s 1-0 win against West Ham away from home at London Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Shearer said on Match of the Day 2 on BBC One (11:17pm, May 9, 2021): “Allan was magnificent. He gave them the protection that they needed at times, and that happened so many times during the game.”
Everton maintained their chances of finishing in the European places in the Premier League table season with a win against Champions League-chasing West Ham.
Allan was one of the best players on the pitch. The Brazil international did his job in the middle of the park perfectly and was an imposing figure in midfield.

The 30-year-old was good on the ball, broke up West Ham’s attacks, and protected the back-line well.
According to WhoScored, Allan had a pass accuracy of 80%, took 38 touches, attempted two dribbles, and made four tackles two interceptions and two clearances.
The Brazilian has had injury problems this season and has made 19 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League.
