Manchester City may have have just coasted to a record-breaking Premier League title win but Alan Shearer says they are not a great side.

Pep Guardiola has implemented a similar style to his great Barcelona sides to turn Manchester City into one of the best teams to grace the Premier League.
Man City have turned on the style all season long playing some swashbuckling football as they coasted to the title with 100 points and 106 goals along the way with a league cup thrown in for good measure.
In truth the Blues blitzed the opposition with fierce rivals Manchester United their nearest challengers some 19 points behind.

City’s enigmatic style and substance prompted much debate throughout the season as to how the matched up against other great teams of the Premier League era such as Arsenal’s invincibles, Alex Ferguson’s United sides and Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.
“Manchester City have played some of the best football we have seen in the Premier League this season,” Shearer told Coral.

“I think it is too early to call them a great team but they have produced many great things this season.
“If they do go on to win it again next season, I think you’d have to revisit that. They have broken all sorts of records and have been excellent throughout the campaign.
“Pep will want to win back-to-back titles and he will be desperate to better their Champions League record. Let’s face it, he was hired fundamentally to try and win the Champions League.
“They had won the Premier League before under previous managers so he will have to try and win that to satisfy the owners.”
