Alan Shearer suggested that Liverpool ace Andy Robertson ‘ran riot’ against Tottenham man Kieran Trippier yesterday, when writing his regular column for the Sun.

The Reds ran out as 2-1 winners against Spurs in the end, and despite dominating the first-half, they can actually consider themselves lucky to have taken maximum points from the contest.

Robertson has been a key player for Liverpool, since moving to Anfield from Hull City for around £8 million in the summer of 2017, and he was on his best form once more against Tottenham yesterday.

The Scotland international gave Spurs right-back Trippier a torrid afternoon, especially during the first-half, and Shearer explained how the Liverpool man played a key role in his side’s victory, when writing his regular column for the Sun:

“Andy Robertson was running riot down the left-hand side and the Spurs wing-backs couldn’t get out. That left Robertson to come forward and he put in a brilliant cross for Roberto Firmino to head in the opener.”

Next up for Liverpool is a trip to Southampton on Friday night, whilst Tottenham play host to Crystal Palace on Wednesday, and both teams will be desperate to win their respective games, for very different reasons.
