Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has written on Coral.co.uk that he would have liked to have played with Arsenal star Mesut Ozil.
Ozil is one of the best players at Arsenal and is one of the most creative footballers in the world.
The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder has been in superb form for the Gunners so far this season.
The 28-year-old has scored three goals and created 18 chances in eight Premier League matches so far this campaign.
In three Champions League appearances this season, Ozil has scored three goals and created five chances for Arsenal.
Former Newcastle striker Shearer has stated that he would have liked to have played with the Germany international.
“There is nothing better for a striker than when you play with a midfielder that you know is going to find you with the ball when you make your run,” Shearer wrote about Ozil on Coral.co.uk.
“And he does that, he makes that happen, and it doesn’t half make the centre-forward’s job easier. I would have liked to have played in the same team as him.
“When you make runs you want to know that the ball is going to come to you and he is someone you can rely on for that.”
Shearer is a Newcastle legend and one of the greatest strikers in Premier League history.
The fact that the former England international wishes he could have played with Ozil shows just how good the Arsenal star is.
Arsene Wenger’s side are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 20 points from nine matches, level on points with Manchester City.
