Alan Shearer has included Arsenal star Bukayo Saka in his Premier League Team of the Week – claiming the England international is “too hot to handle” at the moment. The attacker scored again for Arsenal, on Saturday.
Arsenal continued their resurgent form and push for fourth place with an excellent 3-1 win over Manchester United at The Emirates. Nuno Tavares and Granit Xhaka also netted, with Saka scoring from the penalty spot.
Saka now has 17 goal involvements in 38 games this season, 16 of which have come in his 33 Premier League appearances – scoring 12 and creating five. Still only 20, Saka is truly deserving of the tag wonderkid.
Including Saka in his Team of the Week column on the Premier League’s website, Shearer – having also included Mo Elneny – said: “Scored another goal and was too hot to handle, giving Man Utd a very tough afternoon.”
Shearer on Saka: Arsenal ace surely has to start for England in Qatar
With the World Cup coming into play at the end of the year, Saka is getting better and better with every minute he plays under Mikel Arteta. The Arsenal star is full of confidence and it is evident in his performances.
Not only is he playing well for someone of his age, but of any age. Not only is he showing versatility, fight, hunger and quality – but he is adding the end product to go with it. 16 goal involvements, including 11 goals, is superb.
With Harry Kane starting, Gareth Southgate will have a decision to make on the attackers he partners with the England skipper when Qatar comes around. Right now, if he was to pick a side, Saka would surely be in it.
