Alan Shearer has said on Twitter that Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic was the ‘Man of the Match’ against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea played out a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in London in the Premier League on Sunday.
Kovacic, who cost Chelsea £40 million in transfer fee (BBC Sport), scored in the 42nd minute.
It was a superb goal from the former Real Madrid midfielder.
And, according to Newcastle United legend and BBC Sport pundit Shearer, the 27-year-old Croatia international midfielder was the best player on the pitch.
Verdict on Mateo Kovacic display for Chelsea v Liverpool
Impressive performance
In our opinion, Kovacic was one of the best players on the pitch at Stamford Bridge, as Chelsea and Liverpool drew 2-2.

What was remarkable about Kovacic against Liverpool was that he played in a number of positions.
And he did well in each and every one of them.
Kovacic was always calm in possession and was defensively solid, keeping the Liverpool attackers at bay in the second half.
The midfielder took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 80.3%, won one header, took 105 touches, attempted four dribbles, and made six tackles and one clearance.
