The Liverpool front-man has returned to form in recent weeks.
Alan Shearer offered high words of praise for Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah, when writing his regular column for the Sun, and highlighted how he predicted last week that the Egyptian would score against Chelsea.
The 26-year-old had not scored in eight games in a row for the Reds before he bagged a timely goal against Southampton 10 days ago.
Salah failed to score in midweek against Porto in the Champions League, but he was on target again yesterday against Chelsea, with a fantastic 30-yard strike that found the top corner of Kepa Arrizabalaga’s net.
The former Roma man will be vitally important for Liverpool between now and the end of the season, and it would be no surprise to see him embark on a red-hot run of form.
And Shearer reminded everyone what he said about Salah just last week, when writing his regular column for the Sun:
“Sadio Mane produced the first goal but Salah’s was obviously the highlight. He hadn’t scored in eight but when he struck last week I said he’ll score in the next game because that’s what top strikers do. It was a screamer, just a superb strike.”
Next up for Liverpool is their Champions League quarter-final second-leg against Porto on Wednesday, before they travel to Cardiff City in the Premier League on Sunday, and Salah will be hoping to pick up from where he left off against Chelsea.
