Newcastle have played out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at home in the Premier League.

Allan Saint-Maximin put the Magpies in the lead after just seven minutes with a wonderful effort.

Edinson Cavani scored for the Red Devils in the second half.

In our view, Newcastle were superb against Manchester United and deserved more than a draw.

ASM had a very good chance to score, and there were two late chances as well for Newcastle.

We think that Newcastle did enough to win the match, but, sadly, football does not always work out that way.

Yes, Newcastle are still in relegation trouble, but tonight’s performance showed that the players can step it up.

Now, of course, the injuries to ASM and Callum Wilson will be a worry for Newcastle, but the St. James’ Park faithful should be confident.
