Alan Shearer reacts to Newcastle United defeat on Twitter.

Newcastle United lost 2-1 to Chelsea at St James’s Park this evening.
It was an agonising defeat for Rafael Benitez’s side, who were undone by an own goal from DeAndre Yedlin on 87 minutes.
Minutes earlier, Newcastle had cancelled out Eden Hazard’s second-half penalty as Joselu looked to have snatched a point for the Magpies.
But it wasn’t to be and club legend Alan Shearer summed it up on Twitter afterwards.
Benitez caught a bit of flak for the defensive way in which he set his team up, but it was very nearly a brilliant move by the Spanish tactician and it’s hard to criticise.
They were facing a team who had netted three goals in each of their first two Premier League games this season, so a defensive approach was hardly out of order, given Newcastle clearly didn’t have the attacking players to go fire with fire.
Benitez and Newcastle will be bitterly disappointed, but there was plenty of positives nevertheless.
