Newcastle United have lost against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this afternoon.
Alan Shearer has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the sending-off of Jonjo Shelvey during the Premier League game between Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon.
Shelvey was dismissed just three minutes into the second half for stepping on Dele Alli, as the Magpies went on to lose their opening game of the season at St. James’ Park.
The 25-year-old midfielder was the captain for Newcastle against Tottenham, and his dismissal came at a time when the game was still goalless.

Perhaps Tottenham could have won the match even if the England international had not been dismissed, but there can be no doubt that the North London outfit got an advantage after the incident.
Newcastle legend Shearer was following he match, and he made his opinion on the Shelvey incident clear on Twitter.
A number of other pundits and former footballers, including Gary Neville and Alan Brazil, have also taken to Twitter to criticise Shelvey.

Newcastle will return to action next weekend when they take on Huddersfield Town away from home in the Premier League.
