Alan Shearer has named his Premier League Team of the Week and included three Tottenham men after Saturday’s win over Manchester City. He has also included two Newcastle players, after a draw against West Ham.

Newcastle came from behind to earn a well-deserved, and possibly crucial point to draw 1-1 against West Ham at the London Stadium. While it ends their winning run, it does maintain their unbeaten stretch to six games.

Joe Willock got the goal for Newcastle in what was arguably the ex-Arsenal man’s performance of the season – and he was named in Shearer’s side. On-loan Villa defender Matt Targett was also included, in just his second game.

Later on on Saturday, Tottenham beat Manchester City in a stunning advert for the Premier League – reaffirming themselves as Pep Guardiola’s bogey team. Harry Kane produced a stunning display, scoring twice for Spurs.

Shearer included Kane after praising the Spurs man on Match of the Day, while also including defender Eric Dier – who returned after a groin injury. Shearer also named Antonio Conte as his manager of the week.

Shearer TOTW: Newcastle and Tottenham stars dominate

Kane undoubtedly, was the player of the weekend. Dier was also near-perfect for Spurs – and had to be, in order to stop Manchester City from winning. Spurs did concede twice, but both were excellent in the win.

Conte deserves praise for stifling Manchester City in the middle, surrendering 75% possession but still catching City on the counter. Newcastle and Eddie Howe were also magnificent, with a big point.

The Toon were superb and unlucky not to win – with notable performances from Dan Burn and Jacob Murphy catching the eye. Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho might feel hard done by after shining against Leeds.
