Tottenham Hotspur’s top four hopes were severely dented over the weekend.

Alan Shearer suggested that Tottenham now have a massive challenge on their hands if they are to finish inside the top four this season, when writing his regular column for the Sun.
Spurs lost 2-1 to Southampton on Saturday, and saw their lead over fourth placed Arsenal cut to just one point, after Unai Emery’s men beat Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates yesterday.
The Lilywhites are currently in the midst of a woeful run domestically, having taken just one point from their last four Premier League outings, and Mauricio Pochettino’s men need to turn that around as soon as possible, if they are to secure qualification for the Champions League once again.
And Shearer shared his concerns for Tottenham after the weekend’s results, when writing his regular column for the Sun:

“Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham were a shoo-in a few weeks ago. Now they’ve got an unbelievable challenge on their hands. They go away to Liverpool next and then have to take this form into their new stadium — and who knows how they will react to that? Spurs have also got to go to Manchester City, whereas Arsenal have an easier run-in.”
Tottenham now have three weeks off before they play again – a trip to Anfield to take on Liverpool on March 31st, and Pochettino’s men will have their work cut-out, if they are to arrest their recent slide by taking all three points from their clash with the Reds.
