Alan Shearer has delivered a frank verdict about Newcastle United today.
Chelsea scored three goals in the final 25 minutes to secure a 3-0 win over Newcastle at St James’s Park.
Thomas Tuchel’s side were without a whole host of big-name players.
But they never looked worried by anything that the Magpies threw at them, with the exception of the odd bit of magic that Allan Saint-Maximin conjured up.

The St James’s Park icon is bang on the money.
Newcastle, under the tutelage of interim coach Graeme Jones, only clocked a possession of 29 percent.
Yes, the Blues won a Champions League only a few months ago but even still, that’s a dire stat from the Magpies’ perspective.
Jones’s side also only managed six shots compared to Chelsea’s 19, according to BBC Sport.
Shearer used the word ‘battered’ and that’s as fitting a description as many.
The good news is that Chelsea home and away is a very tough fixture this season and Newcastle have just got one of those out of the way for the rest of the campaign.
The bad news is that they’re 19th in the Premier League table and could be five points adrift of safety by tomorrow night, if Leeds beat Norwich.
