Premier League legend Alan Shearer has delivered his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur’s summer business and has a suggestion for Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite already having arguably one of the best sides in the top flight, Spurs were widely criticised and ridiculed by pundits and rival supporters alike for their lack of activity throughout the summer window.
But the North Londoners sprang into life in the last week of the window to secure several signings.
Striker Fernando Llorente arrived from Swansea and Serge Aurier from PSG on deadline day to add to the signings of Davinson Sanchez from Ajax and prospect Juan Foyth from Estudiantes while Kyle Walker, Clinton N’Jie and Kevin Wimmer were the main departures.

The late flurry seems to have changed the tide of opinion that Tottenham had not done enough to bolster their squad in a bid to go one better and win the league this time out.
And Shearer told Coral Pochettino’s recruitment has been sound while offering a suggestion on how to set up.
“Spurs did some good business at the back end of the transfer window,” Shearer told Coral.
“They had to get more bodies in and they did with Fernando Llorente and Serge Aurier.

“Llorente is cover for Harry Kane, he also gives them a different option and he could also line up alongside him if needed.”
With bodies on board Spurs just need to tackle what Pochettino has described as a ‘mental obstacle’ with regards playing at Wembley this season.
If they can rid themselves of their increasing demons at the national stadium surely the club will be a force to be reckoned with, particularly having finally landed a proven striker capable of providing adequate cover for star man Kane.
