Crystal Palace are struggling in the Premier League at the moment.

Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has suggested in The Sun that Crystal Palace’s next game will be huge for manager Alan Pardew.

Palace will take on Swansea City away from home at the Liberty Stadium in the Premier League this coming Saturday.

The Eagles will head into the match against the Swans on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City at Selhurst Park in the league.

Pardew’s side are 16th in the league table at the moment with 11 points from 12 matches.

Palace are only a point above the relegation zone and are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Former Newcastle striker Shearer has given his take on the situation at Palace, stating that their next game will be huge for manager Pardew.

“What is going on at Crystal Palace?” Shearer wrote in The Sun. “Another defeat yesterday, their fifth in a row and they stand one point above the relegation zone.

“I’m not sure what they do on the training ground but it can’t have a lot to do with defending. That is 17 games without a clean sheet now.

“They have the unwanted record of the worst points per games ratio in 2016 in all four divisions. The trip next Saturday to Swansea now is huge for manager Alan Pardew.”

Palace have a decent squad and should be pushing for at least a top-10 finish in the Premier League.

Pardew is a good manager, but it seems that he is struggling at the moment. Swansea are genuine relegation candidates, and perhaps Palace will be able to win against the Swans this coming weekend.
