Alan Shearer worries if Newcastle will be able to keep Rafa Benitez.

Newcastle United’s impressive 2018 continued yesterday with another victory.
Newcastle beat Arsenal 2-1 at St James’ Park, following up a recent win over Manchester United.
That’s two top six sides to have fallen to the Toon this year and fans are hopeful they will be able to take a big leap forward next year and challenge in the top half of the table.
To do so, keeping manager Rafa Benitez is absolutely essential.

Club record goalscorer Alan Shearer is not totally convinced that is going to happen.
Responding on Twitter, Shearer commented that he believes Newcastle’s owners need to show ambition to match the Spaniard’s, who has achieved success on a tight budget this season.
Newcastle fans might not appreciate Shearer voicing such negative thoughts, but it might be better to raise his concerns to put the pressure on owner Mike Ashley.
Past history would suggest it might not make a difference, and that would be a real shame, as Benitez seems closer than any other manager in more than a decade to truly tapping into the club’s huge potential.
