Speaking on the Premier League’s YouTube channel, Alan Shearer has heaped praise upon Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold, claiming that he has perfected the skill of crossing from deep.

The right-back is undoubtedly one of the most lethal crossers of the ball in world football, and Shearer believes that he has actually perfected that skill.

Alexander-Arnold hasn’t had the best season of his career so far, but Sherarer believes he’s still the best right-back in England.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold, already a Premier League winner. In my opinion the best right-back in the country. He’s not hit the heights of last season when Liverpool won the title, but he’s still a massive talent thanks to his pace, transitional play, and ability to put exceptional crosses into the box,” Shearer said.

“Look at this moment against Man City, one of his trademark crosses from deep, it’s a skill he perfected last term.

“He did the same against Arsenal for Andy Robertson and it resulted in a goal. Not many players can whip in balls like that, but it’s an art Trent has perfected.”

We can’t argue with Shearer’s view here.

Alexander-Arnold crosses a ball unlike any other player. He hits these looping balls with a perfect amount of topspin on them and they always find their mark.

His assist tally speaks for itself, and that’s even more outstanding when you realise he doesn’t have a traditional target man to aim for in the box.

We can only imagine how many goals Shearer would have gotten himself if he was able to play with Alexander-Arnold.
