Alan Shearer told Amazon Prime that he ‘really enjoyed’ Patrick Bamford admitting that he goes ‘mad’ at Leeds United’s wingers if they don’t get the ball into the box.
The TV pundit shared that Bamford is someone playing ‘full of confidence’ and a player who doesn’t seem to be bothered about criticism.
During the recently concluded international break, many were expecting the £10 million Leeds star (BBC Sport) to be at St George’s Park locking horns with some of England’s finest.
But it wasn’t meant to be and Shearer praised Bamford for how he has reacted to that England snub, as he shared his thoughts on the thriving Leeds star.
“He should be full of confidence for the season that he’s having,” said Shearer. “What has impressed me is that he’s not afraid to miss chances.
“Questions have been asked of him in the past and he has answered in the right way. Hugely disappointed not to be in the England squad. But how did he react? By scoring that goal against Fulham.
“So, criticism doesn’t seem to bother him. I really enjoyed it when he said that he actually has a real moan, groan and goes mad at the wingers if they don’t get balls into this system.
“And this system seems to suit him. He has a manager who believes in him and what we didn’t see from that picture is how much he respect the manager. And how much drive he gets from him.”

Bamford played just an hour for Leeds yesterday as they beat their local rivals, Sheffield United, 2-1 at Elland Road.
The only thing Bamford can do from now until the end of the season is continue putting the ball into the back of the net.
And then, he will never know what happens in regards to Gareth Southgate giving him that call for the Euros.
