Everton striker Wayne Rooney has been in wonderful form since Sam Allardyce took charge.

Rooney is currently enjoying a wonderful run of form in an Everton shirt, and struck the winner as the Toffees won 1-0 at St. James’ Park against Newcastle United last night.
Rooney pounced on a goalkeeping error to score his eighth Premier League goal of the season in just 14 matches.

And Shearer believes that Allardyce has already realised the importance of the 32-year-old.
Allardyce has taken Rooney off during every Premier League match he has managed in the Everton dugout to date.
And Shearer said: “It was noticeable that he took him off again and he’s looking after him and protecting him. He was at the heart of everything they did. It was another good performance.”
Everton have now won three of the first four games which Allardyce has been in charge for, with their form catching the eye.

Everton have moved well clear of the drop zone now, and are starting to look up the table.
The Toffees’ victory over Newcastle has lifted them up to 10th in the Premier League standings.
Everton are in action again next Monday, when they take on Swansea City at Goodison Park.
